Domain Of Oral Pathologists

As per M.D.S. course curriculum and syllabus laid down by Dental Council of India (DCI) Revised M.D.S. Course Regulations, 2007 published in The Gazette of India: Extraordinary (Part III, Section 4), An Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist should have adequate knowledge, training and competency to report the following laboratory tests:

  • Histopathology and Cytopathology of specimens belonging to oral and perioral tissues
  • Routine Hematology
  • Routine Microbiology
  • Routine Serology
  • Routine Clinical Biochemistry
  • Molecular Pathology
  • Ultrastructural Investigations

All the above mentioned investigations are being carried out in the department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology of various Govt. and Private dental colleges across India from past many years and the same has been on record by means of Right To Information (RTI) to various dental colleges filed by Dr. Bhuvan Nagpal.
